This Saturday morning, four of our dedicated Li’l Abner Archery athletes stepped onto the shooting line at the Single String Archery Open Tournament – Stage 2, hosted at Fort Lauderdale Archers. The event is organized by Héctor León, a passionate Barebow archer and proud member of both Fort Lauderdale Archers and Li’l Abner Archery, whose enthusiasm continues to strengthen and unite the South Florida Barebow, Recurve, and Traditional archery community.
The tournament opened with a 30-arrow qualification round, conducted under NFAA Vegas Shoot rules. All four of our archers delivered strong, disciplined performances:
- Alvaro Ubeda (Olympic Recurve) Ended with a score of 240, shooting 4 X’s and 2 10’s, earning him a 5th place seed going into eliminations.
- Alan Antolinez (Olympic Recurve) put in a solid round, finishing with 200 points, 1 X, and 1 10, placing him 15th overall.
- Cecilia Seiglie (Barebow) shot a steady and determined round, scoring 192 points with 1 10, securing 16th place.
- Henry Infante (Barebow) also competed with dedication and heart, contributing to the strong representation of our club.
Entering the eliminations as the 5th seed, Alvaro Ubeda defeated Charo Gonzalez in his first match, advancing to the quarterfinals. There, he met Kurtis Galbraith, a strong competitor who ultimately finished 2nd overall.
We are incredibly proud of Alan Antolinez, Cecilia Seiglie, Henry Infante, and Alvaro Ubeda for stepping into competition, challenging themselves, and representing Li’l Abner Archery with determination and sportsmanship. Each performance reflects countless hours of training, focus, and heart.
