This weekend the Li’l Abner Foundation Taekwondo program kicked off with the 2024 competition season. The first of these events corresponded to the 2024 edition of the Winter Games Open organized by Team Taekwondo.
This year the tournament was held in the Everglades High School Gym in the city of Miramar, FL. Teams from all over South Florida participated, as well as delegations from other dojangs in the center and north of the state as well. Congratulations Master Choi and your team for organizing this event, thank you for always inviting us to be part of this sports celebration.
Our team was made up like this:
- Joseph Lovin : Green Belt 14 yrs old, Sparring and Breaking, Gold medalist in both.
- Bayardo Romero: Yellow belt 7 yrs old. Sparring. Gold Medal
- Caiden Cabrera. White Belt 9 yrs old. Sparring. Gold Medal
- Francesco Soto: Blue Belt 10 yrs old, Sparring. Silver Medal
- Luis Garcia: Green Belt 11 yrs old. Sparring. Gold Medal
- Isamar Urribarri. Green Belt (Female) Sparring, Silver Medal
- Mylena Pina. Black Belt (Female), Sparring. Gold Medal
- Steven Garcia. Red Belt . Sparring. Gold Medal
- Cristian Mesa. Blue Belt, Sparring. Gold Medal.
The team was led by the Coaches. Alvaro Ubeda, Rosemary Ubeda and Michelle Lopez.
We congratulate the athletes for their performance as well as their parents for their determined support of their children and the Li’l Abner Foundation program. We are always proud to be able to contribute to the education of your children and help them achieve their goals in sports and life.
